to source the wild garlic we had to ride to Snowshill and through Guiting to the top of Ham hill where the woods are full of it.

Roast rib of beef, red wine gravy, roast potatoes, peas and lettuce

We had the Jm Barry Belbournie which is an awesome wine; we had to have a suitably awesome chunk of meat.

grapefruit meringues

from Rachel Khoo recipe. I used the whole amount (6 serving) curd but with half the sugar; this seemed right to me. The meringue worked the first time I tried this; this time the sugar solidified into lumps as soon as it hit the bowl. Some of it got into the egg and it more or less worked (and not too sweet). Only I was assembling them after the main course and after most of the wine had been drunk , and browning them under the grill. Fortunately they started smoking before they actually burnt much. Fortunately John had had as much to drink as us two, and John is a nice tolerant guy anyway

mum had given us 2 massive parsnips from the garden. I made soup with 1/3 can of coconut milk and a dash of vanilla extract.

Colin didnt want to come for a 3+ hour ride with me, he turned back at Miserden. I did some nice hills

celeriac cubes baked in ham, risotto with peas and mushrooms

Prune ice cream

5floz cream, I eggs 1.5 tbs honey, about 4oz prunes cooked, 1.5 tbs brandy. It didn't freeze hard enough. Maybe next time use less honey or booze
