Chowder of mussel, chorizo, spinach, potato

Red onions roasted in yog and kalonji; broc in tahini

a case of having no idea what to cook, going to WR, finding cheap mussels..

 
Saturday 3.3

Lunch: soba noodles, cabbage

Tea:

at the 2 toads, tetbury, which we'd ridden to in a howling gale

Dinner: chicken livers in allspice and black pepper, spiced pickled figs, walnut bread

potato gnocchi, leek and cream sauce, morels, spinach

I tried microwave-baking the potato (it was a King Edward) so as to reduce the amount of water, but 10 mins was too much. I put in just under 2 =oz flour, but that was too much. They turned out reasonably - not too leaden, but not as good as the squash ones I did well with. Gotta try.

Sunday 4.3

Lunch: spag, artichokes, walnuts, ground almonds

Dinner: fillet steak, olive crust, green beans, fried potatoes

Bonne maman clafoutis

 
Monday 5.3

tartlets with olives, red peppers etc

Avocado, bacon, aubergine rocket salad, ciabatta

Mushroom and potato curry, rice

Poached Figs with candied ginger; ginger shortbread, cream

Wednesday 7.3

Parsnip and potato croquettes, tomato sauce, green beans

Rhubarb, cream, toasted brioche

Thursday 8.3

Ate out

Masala Bites, with John. Then we watched the war part of the Mahabharata and Colin fell asleep

girolles, celeriac and cream puree, brown lentils, celeriac and potato rosti

Lunch: spag with cream and watercress

Dinner: Ate out

no7 with Michael. Then we saw Michael's Senegal photos and Colin fell asleep. Oh and we did some steps.

Sunday 11.3

Lunch: spag, chorizo, evil chill sauce, tomatoes

Dinner: pate and toast (a posh pate from WR)

celeriac, apple, barberries, fried walnuts in mustard mayo

chicken livers in allspice and black pepper with pomegranate; caramelised onions, chard with creamy yoghurt (good), bulghar
