Flag beans, cherry tomatoes, fennel Sort of pizza with Swiss chard, kalonji, feta. Sauce of the remains of the chilli-pepper sauce, tomatoes, cream, yog. I made dough when I got home, 5-6 ox flour and as much water as I could get in. Difficult to knead as you get a smear of wet dough on the work top. I went for a ride (the techy mtb ride), when I came back, flattened it on the round baking tray, let it rise a bit then baked for 5 mins with no topping, then with the topping for abot 15 mins. This was good. |

Simon and Dinah Aubergine rolls stuffed with onion, barberries, pistachios This was very good and worth recording. I used 2 aubergines and grilled 4 lengthways slices from the middle of each. For the stuffing I slow-cooked 2 onions till soft and almost caramelised. About 1-2 tbs barberries which I'd soaked. Probably some garlic. 1-2 tbs pistachios, fried and chopped. 2tbs couscous (ie dry, plus 2 tbs water) Spices : allspice, chilli. A slug of pomegrante molasses. It's near the end of the bottle so it comes out relustantly. Maybe 1/2 tbs. Garnish with mint leaves. Pork belly slow roasted with garlic and WR chorizo-style sausages; butter beans, savoy, new potatoes Saffron and pine kernel sponge cake; yog-cream-honey-orange flower water 4oz flour/butter/sugar + 2 eggs, generour pinch saffron 1-2 tbs pinoli some soft thing from Ireland |
